Siobhan began her music career at the age of 7 playing the recorder in the Artane School of Music. She soon moved on to play the clarinet and saxophone under the instruction of David Birmingham, Ciaran Sutton and Andrew Gillespie. Siobhan also completed Music Theory studies under Tony Doherty.
Siobhan has been a member of the Ardee Concert Band and Cross-Border Orchestra.She is currently a member of the Dublin Concert Band.
As a member of various music groups, Siobhan has performed all around Ireland and Europe, in venues including the Royal Albert Hall and the National Concert Hall.
Following the Leaving Certificate, Siobhan attended the Mater Dei Institute of Education and completed modules in music history, composition, form analysis and music technology under the musical guidance of Dr.Roisin Blunnie, Mr.Donal Hurley, and Dr.Sean Doherty. Siobhan achieved an honors degree in Music and Religious Education. Siobhan is a qualified secondary school Music and Religion teacher and she is currently completing her master’s degree in Education in DCU.
Siobhan teaches our elementary band, a programme that welcomes young musicians to explore music and take the first step of their journey into the Artane School of Music. She also teaches classes in Music Theory.
