Choral Conductor – Laura Wickham

 

Laura began her choral conducting career with The New English School in Kuwait where she conducted their Youth Choir in 2008/2009. On returning to Ireland Laura established St. Brigid’s Choir, Killester, in 2009 with St. Brigid’s Choir, Laura has conducted at state events such as “Encountering the Arts in Ireland”, on national television in RTE’s “Late Late Toy Show”, on the “Voice of Ireland” and in the “Dublin Fringe Festival.” Laura has also directed St. Brigid’s Choir in winning national competitions such as Feis Ceoil, the Navan Choral Festival and The Bord Gais Energy Theatre Awards. In September 2015, Laura was appointed choral conductor for The Artane Community Choir and The Artane Youth Choir. The Artane Youth Choir performed recently in the Royal Albert Hall as part of Scratch Messiah and the Artane Community Choir are currently involved in a collaboration which will present Mendelssohn’s second symphony in the National Concert Hall Dublin and Belfast’s Ulster Hall.
